The Humanitarian Legal Assistant Project (Human First’s legal team) needs an administrative assistant to help with a variety of tasks related to legal case work.

Responsibilities

  • Case tracking

  • I-131 tracking

  • Priority sorting

  • Sponsor outreach

  • Email correspondence

  • Document sorting

  • General administrative tasks

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Familiarity with case management

  • Paralegal Experience is a plus!

URGENT: Translator [Multiple Needed]

Description

Human First is seeking translators across multiple functional areas.

Responsibilities

  • Translation of documents, messages, and templates

Preferred Skills

  • Native or fluent speaker of Dari, Pashto, Urdo, Russian or any other language common in Afghanistan

Description

Human First is seeking multiple administrative assistants to directly support Executive Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Phone and Email correspondence

  • Schedule management

  • General administrative duties

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Rapid information uptake

  • Strong documentation and note-taking skills

  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities

  • Willingness to work on a fluid schedule

Grassroots Fundraising and Development Manager 

Description

Human First is looking for someone to harness the energy of our volunteer team into fundraising events and campaigns, find new opportunities for grassroots fundraising, and help the digital team integrate fundraising goals and materials into our social media content.

Responsibilities

  • Work with executive team to set grassroots fundraising goals and shape campaign narratives

  • Support the creation of social media and digital content that supports and drives fundraising goals

  • Track the progress of our team toward grassroots fundraising goals and communicate progress to volunteer team, exec leadership, and donors

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with grassroots fundraising and social media fundraising campaigns preferred

  • High energy and driven to make a big impact in Afghanistan

  • Experience with event planning and management preferred

  • Independent and self-driven worker that clearly communicates needs

  • Good judgement and decision making skills; able to discern high value fundraising opportunities from low value opportunities

Humanitarian Programs Assistant [multiple needed] 

Description

Human First will be expanding it’s aid delivery program through the winter to support vulnerable Afghan families in need. We are looking for multiple volunteers to help with the administrative management of this program.

Responsibilities

  • Support case management of families receiving aid

  • Manage incoming support requests and family referrals

  • Track program data, conduct basic monitoring and evaluation tasks

  • Basic correspondence with supported families

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with case management a plus

  • Strong decision making skills, confident and discrete

  • Reliable and responsive, works well with team

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Meticulous and detail-oriented, good at managing data

Donor Relations Assistant 

Description

Human First is looking for a volunteer to assist our fundraising team in managing relations with existing donors to keep them involved in our mission and maintain positive relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage a regular donor-specific newsletter

  • Maintain a complete database of donors

  • In collaboration with other team members, support the creation of donor communications materials

  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the fundraising director

Deputy Manifest Coordinator

Description

Human First’s manifesting team needs a deputy coordinator to support our Manifesting Team Lead to support the transition to HFC’s newly build custom CRM and manage case information.

Responsibilities

  • Interfacing with the data validation and IT teams to support the transition to HFC’s new custom case management CRM

  • Support the Manifesting team lead in tracking evacuation opportunities and matching eligible individuals to appropriate opportunities 

  • Tracking US POCs for individual cases

  • Supporting the creation and validation of manifests

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Familiarity with Hubspot CRM (preferred but not required)

  • Meticulous, detail oriented, independent, and reliable - this work relies heavily on your ability to get the details right every time

Hotline Volunteer [Multiple Needed]

Description

Hotline volunteers will be responsible for communicating with new or existing cases in Afghanistan.


Note:

Volunteering on the Hotline can be emotionally demanding. Hotline volunteers are charged with clear, calm, and consistent communication of messages, even in stressful situations.

  • Email correspondence

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with sensitive communications

  • High degree of emotional intelligence

  • Language skills in Dari, Pashto, or Urdu greatly appreciated but not required

Data Collection and Validation Team Member [multiple needed]

Description

Data Collection volunteers are responsible for contacting individuals to collect data, ensuring the integrity of individual records, and checking for accuracy across multiple document types and submitted forms. 

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that personal information is consistent across multiple documents

  • Communicating with Hotline team to resolve inconsistencies

  • Communicating with individuals requesting assistance to collect data

  • Maintaining database accuracy

Preferred Skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel

Additional Useful Skills

  • Familiar with HubSpot CRM or SalesHub

  • Fluent in written Dari and Pashto (helpful but not required)
